Hi all! It’s been awhile since my last bout of bloggaliciousness. I’ve been trying to let the dust settle after The Sound‘s CD release show. It was such a fun and beautiful experience, I cannot thank everyone enough for their love and support.
Over the last few months I went through a relationship that didn’t work out. I realized just a few days ago that at every stage of the relationship, I wrote a song:
1) Before I met her: Love Will Find Me
2) After meeting her for the first time – The One That Got Away
3) While we were together – All In
4) After we broke up – Questions, Promise in the Pain
5) During a process of introspection and renewal/rediscovery – This is the Last Time, Love Anyway
NOTE: Song lyrics are printed at the end of this post.
Through these songs, the listener is able to gain insight into all phases of a failed relationship:
Contentment and non-expectation
Excitement and relational discovery
Enamor
The end
Recovery, confidence in the future, and hope
So many folks around me are in similar seasons of life. I really hope and pray that these songs can speak to people, wherever they may be. It’s important to realize that you are not alone. You are never the only person that goes through something. And ultimately, for most, only one dating experience will ever actually be a success. It’s the failures that make you more aware of what you do need and want for your life. Your person is out there, living his/her life right now. You’re not going to miss him/her, so be patient and know that you are loved.
Once it’s completed, the intent for this album is for it be 100% free. It’s gonna be a very raw, indie “live-in-the-studio” sort of project. We will likely record a live performance video for each tune as well. I’m super excited and will keep you posted on the progress!

October 18th is an acoustic show with The Digital Age and Bellarive (@ Journey Fellowship)
