**NOTE: As of August 2015, I am no longer taking production clients.
2) Need help recording/releasing an album?
If you’re an artist looking to record an album, it can be confusing. There are a lot of steps in the process – copyrighting the music, recording/producing/arranging the songs, mastering, duplication, physical and digital distribution (iTunes, etc…)… It’s also hard to find a good high-quality studio that can create that “legit” sound, especially without going to Austin.
My name is Matt and I’m a San Antonio-based producer/recording engineer (and singer/songwriter). I’ve been through the process and can walk you through all the steps required to put out a music release you can be proud of. Hope to talk to you soon!

PS – Read this handy dandy article I wrote on Raising Money for Your Recording Project.
3) What Does A Producer Do?
According to the be-all-end-all of human knowledge (Wikipedia), a producer is an individual working within the music industry whose job is to oversee and manage the recording (i.e. “production”) of an artist’s music. A producer has many roles that may include, but are not limited to:
- gathering ideas for the project
- selecting songs and/or musicians
- coaching the artist and musicians in the studio
- controlling the recording sessions
- supervising the entire process through mixing and mastering
As a producer, I do my best to make the most out of each project – I always offer tips, advice and corrections to artists. However, my artists always have the final say. I have had tons of folks tell me that they’ve had bad experiences with producers in the past where they would attempt to make the project their own instead of deferring to the artist.
Additionally, I have extensive knowledge in music copyrighting, distribution and other processes. I also have top notch vendor recommendations (for CD duplication, photography, mastering, etc…) and am very affordable.
